Define the segment
The segment is the part of the dashboard you want to isolate.
For experiments, the segment is mainly the question set, the goal, and the scheduled agent prompts tied to that goal. It can also include a page cluster or competitor angle you are watching.
Segment boundary
Write the boundary before adding questions.
The boundary should explain what belongs in the experiment and what does not. This protects the result from becoming a second full dashboard.
## Segment Topic: AI visibility comparison page. Included: questions about AI visibility tools and source evidence. Excluded: general brand trust prompts and unrelated product prompts.
Data before start
Check whether the segment already has useful prompt results.
If not, the first experiment period may only create the baseline. That is fine, but it should be written down.
Segment boundary
The segment says what belongs inside the test and what should stay in the normal website dashboard.
Measurement effect
A clear segment makes movement easier to explain.
If the questions all match the goal, then a change in mentions, sources, or competitors is easier to review.
Locked setting
Do not keep changing the segment during the test.
If the segment changes every few days, the result becomes hard to trust.
