Publishing checks
Publishing checks help catch link problems before and after a page goes live.
Before sync, review the markdown file. After publishing, Page Writer can run an on-page check when the live URL exists and belongs to the website. The check can show page data such as score, status code, word count, title length, description length, and link counts.
Check links before sync
Start inside the markdown file.
Make sure each internal link has a reason. Check that link text is clear. Confirm that the target page exists or is clearly marked as planned.
Publishing checks
Review links inside the markdown first, then use the live on-page check after the URL exists.
Check the live page after publishing
Once the page is live, use the on-page check when available.
This does not replace human review. It gives extra data. For example, it can help spot missing title data, thin content, or unexpected link counts.
| Check | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Status code | Confirms the live page responds |
| Title length | Helps catch missing or messy titles |
| Description length | Helps check search preview basics |
| Internal links | Shows if the page connects to the site |
| Word count | Helps find thin pages |
Feed issues back into the sitemap
If the live check shows a problem, update the markdown file status.
That turns the issue back into planned work. The sitemap can then show the page as a live check item instead of a forgotten page.
